In the Mastercard index of women entrepreneurs, Portugal is the sixth country in the world with the most women entrepreneurs. A score of 32.2%, ahead of countries such as Spain, Italy and Ireland.
When analyzing the percentage of female company managers, Portugal ranks ahead of countries such as Ireland, France and Germany, with a figure of 37.4%. It ranks 15th in terms of female participation in the global labor market.
However, in the percentage of financial support for women, Portugal is below the global average. It is below countries such as the United Kingdom, France and Germany, ranking 31st. In SMEs, Portugal ranks 32nd, far behind countries such as Spain and Ireland.
According to Pordata, the pay gap with men reached 14.1% in 2019, a percentage equivalent to 51 days of paid work.
